Everything you need to know about Nafpaktia
Our beaches
Nafpaktos stands out for its two wonderful beaches, Gribovo in the east and Psaniin the west, which are famous for their age-old plane trees. They have all the necessary infrastructure that will satisfy even the most demanding visitor.
Our beaches extend mainly to the southwestern part of the Municipality of Nafpaktia (Municipal Units of Antirrio and Halkia). The mountain of Klokova (also known as Paliovouna and Kaki Skala due to the inaccessible passage) with its characteristic conical shape seems to sink into the liquid element. From its slopes the view to Nafpaktos, the Corinthian and the Gulf of Patras is unique. Under the shade of the modern bridge of Rio Antirrio and the castle of Antirrio and up to the foot of the hill with the ancient theater of Makineia, discover the organized beaches of Antirrio and Makineia.
The mountain range of Varasova to the west, in combination with the river Evinos, create a special landscape with rich vegetation and rare birds. Evinos, dominant in the area, crosses the area of Trikorfo, through narrow passages, and continues its course increasing its width, mainly in the areas of Gavrolimni and Perithori, where it creates fertile plains. The delta of the river extends west of Galatas, contributing to the creation of the lagoon of Messolonghi.
Of particular interest are the three beautiful beaches of the area, Kato Vasiliki, Limnopoula and Kryoneri with fine sand and crystal clear waters.
Also, you can visit a short distance from Nafpaktos and the beautiful beaches of neighboring Fokida: Chiliadou, Monastiraki, Skaloma, Marathias and Sergoula.
Antirrio
The settlement is located on the northern tip of the Rio – Antirrio strait, right on the Antirrio cape. In ancient times it was named Molykrion Rion
Makyneia
Makyneia is a beautiful resort town with excellent beaches featuring excellent white sand, and clear, warm and shallow sea waters.
Kato Vassiliki
The seaside village of Kato Vasiliki is situated in the shadow of the Varasova mountains. It is a very popular summer resort.
Kryoneri
The Kryoneri hamlet is part of the Galatas district of the Municipality of Nafpaktos.
Psani
Psani beach is located in the west, a stone's throw from the Venetian harbor of Nafpaktos. Cars are banned during the summer, so there is plenty of room for pedestrians and cyclists to stroll around safely.
Gribovo
The name Gribovo in Slavic means an area with lots of waters and it is located east of the Venetian harbor. On the west side of the beach there is a children's playground with ducks and swans swimming in the crystal-clear running waters perfectly accustomed to by-passers!
Limnopoula
Between Kryoneri and Kato Vasiliki there is the beach of Limnopoula (not organized) with wonderful fine sand and crystal clear waters, in the shadow of Mount Varasova.
