- Mountainous Nafpaktia
Alternative getaways in the countryside

The area of the mountainous region of Nafpaktia or Kravara, as it was previously called, is an exciting mountain destination located in the eastern part of Aitoloakarnania, north of Nafpaktos and between the lake Trichonis and Fokida. Set in the southern ends of the mountain ranges of Pindos, Oxia, Panaitoliko and Vardousia, with the river Mornos, the river Evinos and its tributary Kotsalos in the south, the region comprises about 55 villages, “small eagle nests” in the heart of lush forests of fir trees, walnut trees, beech and chestnut trees.
In the mountainous region of Nafpaktia you will encounter landscapes and experiences of the authentic Greek countryside life- natural paths linking quaint villages with stone-built houses, forests, waterfalls, rivers and lakes, tsipouro, wine, chestnuts, mushrooms, country fairs and celebration gatherings.
