Mikis Theodorakis Nafpaktos International Choir Festival

On May 16, 17, and 18, the Nafpaktos International Choir Festival, named after the renowned Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, will take place.

The Nafpaktos International Choir Festival “Mikis Theodorakis” was first held in 2001 and has since been organized every two years with great success. Each time, the Festival has a commemorative character and features distinguished and acclaimed artists. The legendary Greek composer personally attended many of the Festival’s events and had stated:

“Festivals like the one in Nafpaktos serve as patriotic strongholds, given that the defense of Greek identity, the Greek language, and Greek music—and in one word, Greek tradition—is the primary duty of all living inhabitants of this country.”
